They still retain their newly forged, Númenórean, helmets along with sword and shield, however, due to their fierce loyalty and service, they are rewarded with completely re-forged cuirass' made from the purest steel the smiths from the blue mountains can provide. Unlike their fellow servicemen, these men are full-time, professional, soldiers with the sole occupation of safe guarding Arnor's best interests at home or wherever their fabled King decrees. Although, a hand picked number of those who saw regular service were drawn into the formation of a completely separate regiment, consisting solely of grizzled veterans and skilled swordsmen from all over Arnor.
